Keeping Safe With
Covid
We have made
adjustments to our procedures to meet covid regulations for B&Bs,
and modify these continually as the situation changes, but it will not affect
the quality your stay.
We want you to be safe and happy during your stay!
Facing more or less east, we get the most magnificent sunrises across the Purbeck Hills and the sea. Sunsets are often pink with the light reflected from the west and we also see the moon rise over the sea or hills to the north east, depending on time of year.
There are two seals that we see quite often in the sea right outside The Seaspray - and from the sea view windows. The larger one seems to like human company and sometimes plays with early morning swimmers. They come out of the water from time to time in the little cove created by the rock groyne a few minutes walk on the Esplanade, towards Bowleaze. Sadly, we haven't seen them so far this year, but hope they will return soon.
My name is Tim O'Hare and I am the owner of this lovely B&B. The Seaspray is a small, friendly, family run B&B
guesthouse, with wonderful views from most rooms out across Weymouth Bay. It
was originally a late Georgian, bow windowed, terraced house, reputedly built for the officers of the
Weymouth garrison.
We have a high approval rating of 9.3 on Booking.com and were awarded the 2021 RECOGNITION OF EXCELLENCE by the Hotels Combined website
and also a
2021
KAYAK Travel Award
- all based on our excellent guest reviews.
Breakfast
You start the day with an excellent, varied breakfast, including a wide range of fruit, cereals, toast and yoghurt offered, followed by a classic "full English" breakfast or variations on that theme. The dining room looks out across Weymouth Bay.
The Area
Brunswick Terrace is virtually on the beach, with just the short cul-de-sac outside to cross, so excellent for families and children.
We are at the more peaceful end of Weymouth Bay, but less that 10 minutes' walk into the centre of town and the more "active" seaside town attractions.
The rooms are comfortable and en-suite (only room 6, the small double/single sea view room has a private external bathroom). All have comfortable beds, free wifi, TV/DVD, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, clothes hanging and drawer space. We have one family room (sleeping 3 or 4) and four double rooms. Most rooms have a direct sea view, but the standard double rooms do not face the sea.
There are tables and chairs to sit outside and enjoy a drink and the view. We face more or less east, so you can see spectacular sunrises and also moonrises on full moon, when the moon emerges red out of the sea. With prevailing south westerlies, the bay in front of us is usually calm, with slowly slpong sandy bottom, so ideal for a dip. Easterly winds bring waves and the kite surfers, who put on amazing displays of speed and jumps.
